House Practices and Amenities Information
Dear Guest:
Thank you for choosing to stay at Casa Cion. We are delighted to welcome you to this ancestral home of Braulio and Asuncion Borlaza which we, their descendants, have endeavoured to refurbish for others like you, to experience living like Liliwenos. We hope you will enjoy your stay and look forward to welcoming you again and again.
To make your stay more meaningful, we have written this “House Practice and Amenities Info Kit, ”with two things in mind, for you to help us: (a) preserve the old parts of the house, its furniture and decors and (b) continue the tradition of how our ancestors lived in this house. The following pages will provide you with the information you need in this regard.
Thank you for your kind cooperation and have a pleasant stay!
1. House-wide 'Slipper' Zone and No Smoking Area
After checking in, the whole interior of the house is “Slipper Zone.” Complimentary Liliw-made slippers will be provided upon check-in. They are yours to keep. Sizes and styles however may vary depending on availability. You may wish to purchase additional slippers any time at the check-in/reception area.
All house interior premises are also “No Smoking” areas. There is also a local
ordinance that prohibits smoking in public areas. Please ask the reception where
smoking is permitted.
2. ‘Share’ Zones
There are shared/common areas in the house:
Lounge Areas – There are two lounge areas. One on the second floor where you can read and have a quiet time. The other is on the third floor which is a ‘self-help’ place where you can take a snack or eat a pack meal. A fridge, hot water air pot, and microwave are available here.
Please dispose of your trash in the garbage bins provided. There are designated bins for food waste and recyclable items, e.g., paper, cartons, plastic bottles and packaging.
Toilet and Bath Rooms – There are two separate toilet rooms and two
bath/shower rooms on the second floor and one toilet and bath room combined
on the third floor. As a courtesy to the one before you, please wait for your turn.
Toilet and bath rooms will be cleaned once a day, so please leave them as clean
as possible after use for the next person.
‘Seeing’ Area – There is a veranda on the south wing of the house for you to
view street passers-by and observe how Liliwenos go about their daily lives.
